I know some atheists laugh at people of faith like me for praying – like there is any scientific evidence that prayers are answered on a cause and effect basis (there are some interesting studies on prayer, but that’s for another time).

But you know what – to sit in a community with a few other adults. Share your joys, troubles, concerns, hopes and fears. Have those people listen to you attentively, and then all join together in prayer for one another, expressing empathy, concern and compassion – it’s a beautiful thing. Worth the price of admission before God even begins to work.
And how could things not change for you for the better with a community like that around you!?
What the atheists are missing out on!
