“Having grown up in Melbourne, it was amazing how little I knew of our history and heritage. Totally loved the walk, the chat and the company. What a great way to spend a Saturday morning! I’m inspired now to return and enjoy the insides of many of these churches and soak up some more history. Thanks heaps Dave – a great use of your gifts and talents. I thought I’d enjoy it but came away totally inspired.”
– Gill H

“Thanks for taking me on the tour around Geelong on Saturday. Once again, your knowledge of historical facts is amazing. Saw streets that I’d never noticed before in Geelong! Living in the Geelong area, I felt it’s important to have an idea of our Christian heritage. To me it felt like God showing his photo album of his children’s journey. Very enjoyable and interesting.”
– Deb M

“We thought we knew Melbourne and its history but we learned so much on this walking tour. We discovered churches and people and the influence they had on Melbourne’s early days. We learned about how their Christian values motivated them to change their society. It left us thinking about their legacy to our city and society today. The tour also gave us inspiration to go back and visit places we had never known about. Wear good walking shoes and be prepared for those hills. Definitely do it.”

“My first heritage walk; wasn’t sure what to expect and I found it fascinating. I found it a voyage of discovery (I even found a lane I had never previously used, with a fascinating old house hidden away). David seems to have a good grasp of the history of Geelong (I even learnt new information about my old Lutheran Church) and it was a pleasure to listen to him. Thanks David.”
– Bob Z

“For a historical perspective on Christian faith at work in central Melbourne, join Sight Magazine’s walking compendium, David Adams, as he takes you on a healthy two hour walk around the city. You discover who came when and gain a broad overview of a Christian voice that has sought a better Melbourne throughout the decades since establishment. It is both encouraging and informative so take the walk and enjoy a different day in town.”
– Lloyd H

“The Christian heritage walk in Melbourne was full of interesting information and facts, not only about the churches but also different buildings and statues that we saw along the way. Well worth doing.”
– Isabel H

“We had a delightful discovery tour through Melbourne’s CBD on the Christian heritage walk. Learning some of our rich diverse history was inspiring and in particular the stories of significant women and the women’s temperance movement brought a deeper appreciation of the rights and services for women that forged the way for greater equality. We saw magnificent churches, significant bronze statues and historical sites with interesting information provided by our guide by David Adams. What a great way to spend a Saturday.”
