Christians in churches across the UK are taking part in the second National Prayer Weekend this Saturday and Sunday.
An initiative of UK-based international training and publishing organisation CWR, the weekend has garnered the support of groups including the UK’s Evangelical Alliance and 24-7 Prayer and is aimed at initiating a “wave of prayer” over the UK.
“We believe that local people praying for their community can transform the nation,” say the organisers on the event website. “Central to National Prayer Weekend 2016 is the heart to see people in our local communities know and encounter God as their Father through the power of prayer.”
More than 1,300 individuals, groups and churches joined in the inaugural weekend last year.
