What would it take for the modern mind to be open to the Divine?
You would need a short series of historical events that punctuated the normal laws of nature and which demonstrated divine intervention.
These divine interventions would have to include at least one event that completely contradicted one of the irreversible laws of nature – like death – witnessed not only by a series of individuals, but by the change in human history that would rightly take place. That should be enough.
Of course, if a book of such things existed, the cynical mind would simply dismiss it out of hand exactly because it contradicted the laws of nature.
What a conundrum.
This is exactly what the Bible claims to be; a documented record of the times God has entered human history to change our destiny; even contradict the finality of death!
Are we open to consider it?
