We had two things happen to us in the same week. Some grub broke into our house and stole our iPad and iPhone. It’s quite unnerving having someone rumble through your house! We wanted to cry, ‘why us?!’
Then, on Sunday, someone shared about the life of a sponsor child and their impression of rich people. Really rich people. The type who have two cars. Whose children have their own bedrooms. Who have the obscene reality of a whole room just for their clothes!
That sounds like our house! How can I cry out about losing the 14th piece of technology in my home, when many don’t even have something I would recognise as a home?
That doesn’t justify the thief, but we rich have to realise if we aren’t willing to give some of what we have away, one day it will be taken from us!
Paul Clark’s musings can be heard on radio across Australia and at atthetop.org.au.
