Has the Bible ever grabbed hold of you? It did me.
I belonged to a youth group at a local church.
One week we read from the sermon on the mount: “You have heard it said, ‘Love your neighbour, hate your enemy,’ but I tell you, love your enemies, and do good to those who hate you.”
I was grabbed by the heart. I said to the others, “Wow, if people really lived this it would change the world.”
They dismissed me with a “Yeah, we know.”
“No, you don’t you get it. This stuff could change the world!”
“Yeah, yeah.”
I wanted to shake someone! “Don’t you see, this is it. This is the secret to life!”
They didn’t see and I couldn’t make them. But it grabbed me and it’s been my life’s work to help other people see ever since.
Has it grabbed you yet?
