Improve at school

Being married to a teacher and, as a parent, here are some simple things you can do with your children, that will have a huge impact on their schooling.

Be interested and positive about school. Ask your children what they did each day, show interest. Support the teacher. Help them with their homework. Prioritise homework over screen time.

Ensure they get healthy attention at home. Kids crave attention, and if they don’t receive it from their parent in healthy ways, they’ll demand it from their teachers in unhealthy ways – ie misbehaviour.

If your child is struggling in one subject, work on it with them for a time. Four weeks focus with you will really make a difference. I guarantee it.

The biggest factor in education success is not the school, the suburb, the teacher – but parent interest.
