Faith has become a religious word easily derided as the domain of the ignorant and foolish. We usually interpret it to mean ‘blind faith’ – believing something without any evidence – because there are those who use it like this.
But faith is more normal than we think. Most businesses are built on faith: you have a great idea, do your research, make a business plan, but in the end you have to take a big breath, step out and risk it all, on something you can never be completely sure of.

Faith is making a decision to trust in the evidence, or a person, because the facts stack up. Life is full of faith. We trust doctors, teachers, police, scientists; sometimes even politicians.
Blind faith in anything is to be discouraged, but trust is as natural and necessary as breathing.
