Christians from across the globe are invited to join in this annual celebration of “prayer and action to protect creation”. The season, the origins of which date back to 1989 with the first declaration of a day of prayer for creation, is now observed by Christians from a broad range of denominations. The season’s steering committee includes A Rocha, the Anglican Communion Environmental Network, the Global Catholic Climate Movement, the Lutheran World Federation, the World Council of Churches, the World Evangelical Alliance, Lausanne/WEA Creation Care Network and Christian Aid.
