There’s a “strict Coptic Catholic who is saving himself for marriage”, a gay man who “underwent years of conversion therapy at the hands of the church”, a female Anglican priest from a progressive church in Brisbane, the founder of movement reaching out to young Asians in Australia and New Zealand and a Mormon.

They are among the 10 Australians with “vastly different beliefs” featured on Christians Like Us, a two part reality show to air on SBS in Australia over the next two weeks.
The show, which follows on from last year’s Muslims Like Us, sees the participants live in a house together for a week as they grapple with issues like “what makes a good Christian, and the role religion plays in modern life”, according to SBS.
“Christians Like Us explores what it means to be Christian in Australia in 2019,” said Marshall Heald, director of TV and online content at SBS. “The 10 participants showcase a diverse range of views, and are each deeply passionate and opinionated about their faith. Through debate and discussion, the series invites Australians to engage with the complex elements of Christianity and the issues currently facing the faith.”
‘Christians Like Us’ airs on SBS in Australia at 8.35pm on 3rd and 10th April.
