The Australian Christian Lobby has welcomed a move by Hyatt Hotels to remove all on-demand pornography from guest’s rooms in its hotels around the world.
The decision comes in the wake of similar moves by the Hilton and Marriott Hotels. Wendy Francis, ACL’s spokeswoman for the dignity of women, said the decisions indicated a "significant cultural shift as more companies refuse to profit from, or facilitate, sexual exploitation of women in particular".
Ms Francis said it was now time for the Federal Government to put internet service provider filtering of pornography "back on the table so that children, at least, could have access to a clean internet feed".
Hyatt reportedly said it would not introduce on-demand pornographic content to any of its new hotels and would discontinue or phase it out of existing hotels.
