University

At university, young people explore who they are. They test boundaries and rebel against the mainstream.

When I went to uni it was enough to grow your hair, protest, and stop all personal grooming to demonstrate your non-conformity. Since so many radical things have now become mainstream, how do young people rebel?

If you hear about life on campus these days you hear about the really strange things young people have to do to be ‘out there’. Pronouns are just the beginning.

Some people push themselves to irreversible extremes to demonstrate their non-conformity, where once a wrist tattoo was enough. It’s sad because our generation could push the boundaries and recover, these days it’s a lot harder. Not to mention that social media never forgets.

My hope is that one day, loving God and loving others is the most radical thing you can do again.
