Why? Because faced with our faults, we feel shame – and shame shuts us down.
What a terrible catch-22. How can we help our kids if we can’t own our own problems?
It’s time to let go of shame. Life just is. When you find a fault, own it, grieve it, but don’t blame. It just is. Take responsibility. Work the problem.
The remarkable truth is, as you fix yourself, you will fix your children. It truly happens.
You can’t change anyone but yourself, and when you change yourself, others change. That’s certainly not something to be ashamed of; working on yourself.
