Measuring equality

I’m a huge believer in equality between the sexes – in the beginning God created us male and female in His image; as Jesus and the apostles declared – females are coheirs and co-workers in the Kingdom.

One of the mistakes with our modern attempts at equality is that we determine equality based on patriarchal, capitalist values.

That is, our economic value and our status in the patriarchal hierarchy determine our value; male and female.

If females have taught me anything it is that evaluations of people based on their earning power and patriarchal status need to be absolutely challenged.

Woman shouldn’t have to be men to have value, it’s our values ourselves that need recalibrating. ‘Nurturing power’ is as, if not more important, than ‘earning power’. Empathy as important as control.
