Have you ever considered how profound doors are?

A friend of mine recently visited a Ugandan village – and almost everyone in the town didn’t have a door.
Oh they had walls, roofs and doorways – but no doors. A doorway is a pretty good invention, it allows you to go from one place to another, but without a door rooms are not private. You can’t keep the cold out, but more profoundly than that, you don’t have any security; it’s tough to sleep when you have no door to lock.
My friend bought some of these villagers doors. They were overjoyed!
Now I get why Jesus called Himself the door. Those Ugandan’s get it. He is our warmth, He is our security, and He is our way to a better place where we will no longer need doors.
