They have their ideas, and your years of experience basically means nothing? You can sum up their attitude with one phrase – “You can’t tell me what to do!”
Doesn’t that basically describe the human condition? We’re all arrogant, yet ignorant whipper-snappers before God saying, “You can’t tell me what to do.”
And God quietly, patiently, watches us make a mess of things, until that point where we are willing to ask for help, and possibly even forgiveness – if we don’t leave it too late.
We want autonomy. We think autonomy will make us happy. Until we realise autonomy is another word for alone. How are you going on that journey?
