Those who kept us safe – reinforced our communal rules and stories, the status quo – were our heroes.

We now live in the first era of history where we honour those who bring change – technology, innovation, growth. Think Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos.

It’s exciting, but it’s also exhausting. Many get left behind and can our environment cope?

I’m not for a return to the past – for us all to become Luddites – but I predict the next great innovation may be for stability, predictability – and if we don’t choose this ourselves, nature may choose it for us.
