When I was 14, my younger brother and I decided to challenge each other; who could read the Bible through first.

We started in Genesis, reading a chapter each night. My brother gave up when we got to Leviticus, but me – being stubborn – kept going.
Over the next nine years, I read the Bible through three times. Talk about a solid foundation for life and future ministry.
I didn’t always understand it. I found much of it shocking and heaps of it amazing, but through the process, I fell in love with its author.
The Bible is a big collection of books. It’s got some very difficult parts – of course; it’s thousands of years old, and it claims to make known a God whose ways are profoundly higher than ours.
