There are lots of stories and movies about falling in love, but not so many about staying in love for the long haul; the harder, yet more profound,thing.
We have elevated the feelings of love, not the decision to love.

In the same way in the church there are lots of stories and attention on people coming to faith, conversion, but not so many of people staying with the faith, persevering and making those profound steps to Christ-likeness. Surely that is something we need to rectify in the church.
Celebrating those who last a lifetime, as well as those who come to faith.
Interestingly, the work required to preserve in faith, and in a relationship, is the same. Staying in love with the other.
