TOM ELLIS speaks with, Luiz Fernando Godinho, a spokesperson for UNHCR Brazil, discusses the participation of the Refugee Olympic Team at Rio 2016, what message it sends to the world, what it means to the athletes themselves and what impact it could have. You can listen to the interview here.
Tegla Loroupe held many marathon and half marathon titles in te 90’s. She broke the World Record for the marathon twice in 1998 and 1999. On retirement from pounding the roads and the track she has devoted herself for peace. As founder of the Tegla Loroupe Peace Foundation she has been able to help young and old. Her latest project is giving a sporting life to refugees from war torn countries and is the chef de mission of the Olympic Refugee Team.
