The Australian Christian Lobby has developed a new iPhone app which they say will make getting in touch with parliamentarians easier.
The app draws on the user’s data to determine who their local MP is and provides details of how they can reach them. It also features updates from the organisation at both a state and national level and access to the ACL’s weekly radio program, The Political Spot.
It took six months to develop the app and the ACL are now working on a version for Android. The app can be downloaded free-of-charge from iTunes here.
Meanwhile the organisation has confirmed Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Opposition Leader Tony Abbott will both record three minute video messages which will be played at the Make It Count 2013 Election Panel event.
Held from 7.30pm on the 2nd September, the event – which will be webcast to churches across the nation – will feature a panel discussion involving former Deputy Prime MInister John Anderson, Wesley Mission Superintendent Rev Dr Keith Garner, former Federal Attorney-General Robert McClelland, Dr Megan Best, a bioethicist and palliative care specialist, and Dr Justine Toh of the Centre for Public Christianity.
Churches are encouraged to register at webcast.australiavotes.org.au. Registration closes this Sunday.
