I brought my puppet in today. Say ‘g’day’ Hairy.
None of them are Hairy – but they are puppets all the same. PICTURE: Robert Zunikoff/Unsplash
Hang on, I’m not a puppet.
Yes you are.
No I’m not. You don’t control me.
Nice one Hairy.
If you’re in control could I do this? (Hits Paul in face.)
Hairy, don’t hit me in the Face!
I told you you’re not in control. How dumb would someone have to be to hit themselves in the face?
I knew I should have left you at home.
For centuries we’ve tried to understand the paradox of God’s sovereignty and human free will. How can God be in control if we are free? Are we free? Or puppets?
God has given us free will, yet He knows us so well, He can weave the web of life achieving the outcomes He desires.
I’m glad Hairy is free. But I’m also glad he’s under my control.
Am not.
