STAYING IN HARMONY

I’ve got my guitar with me again today. We’ve been talking about the need to stay in tune, not just in a band, but in your life – otherwise discord is the result.

Musical notes

But have you ever wondered – where do the notes come from? We call them ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ – but notes are just there. You can hear when a guitar string is in tune, and when it’s not. It sounds flat, or sharp!

There’s some amazing maths behind what sounds good to our ear and what doesn’t. But the frequencies of harmonious sounds are just given; they are there.

So too in life – some things bring harmony to life and some things don’t. Lying, stealing, cheating – they destroy life. Loving, helping, healing – they bring joy.

You can fight it, but some things are just right, and other things aren’t.

Paul Clark’s musings can be heard on radio across Australia and at atthetop.org.au.
