SIGHT EDITORIAL – AUSTRALIA VOTES

Read Sight‘s election editorial…

After eight weeks – one of the longest election campaigns in Australian history, we’re finally down to the last couple of days.

More than a million Australians have already voted but for the majority, this Saturday represents our opportunity to be heard at the ballot box.

At Sight we won’t tell you who to vote for. Rather, as Christians, we encourage you to survey the policies of the parties and candidates standing for election and to prayerfully consider them – to weigh them up – in the light of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ, particularly as it is expressed through the Word of God.

We hope, that through our coverage over the past two months, we’ve provided you with some resources to help in that decision. And remember, no party or candidate can claim a Christian’s vote by default or by right – your vote is yours to cast.

Our prayer is that this election may be an opportunity for Christians to let the light of Jesus Christ through them; that we act out of love and not fear.

Your vote this election is important. So make it count.
