Australian brewery releases commemorative light beer to mark Bible Society Australia’s bicentenary

An Australian brewery has released a special light beer to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Bible Society Australia.

South Australian-headquartered Coopers Brewery announced the release of a special commemorative light beer this week.

Greg Clarke, CEO of Bible Society Australia, said he was grateful for the support of the brewery. “Coopers Foundation have been strong supporters of Bible Society work, in particular Bibles for the defence forces. I hope Australians enjoy a chance to celebrate the fact that we are here for good,” he said.

Tim Cooper, managing director of Coopers said the choice of a light beer made “good sense” given the BSA’s slogan of ‘Live Light’.

Bible Society Australia was founded in Sydney on 7th March, 1817. The organisation has planned various events throughout the year to mark the bicentenary milestone.
