Former Wesley Mission superintendent Rev Dr Gordon Moyes was presented with a "lifetime achievement award" for his achievements in Christian media at a recent gala dinner hosted by Christian Media Australia.
Rev Dr Moyes, whose writing features on Sight, wrote and presented the half hour weekly national TV program Turn ‘Round Australia during his 27 years as Wesley Mission’s superintendent as well as being involved in the production on numerous other programs including the The Discovering Series based on three books he had written.
His 42 years of radio work included hosting Sunday Night Live with Gordon Moyes on radio station 2GB for eight years from 1985 and between 1990-1997 he was chairman of the Macquarie Radio Network.
An author of some 58 books, he spent nine years in the New South Wales Legislative Council – from 2002 to 2011 – representing the Christian Democratic Party and Family First and serving briefly as an independent. Past honours have included being awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia in 2002 and the Australian Centenary Medal.
Rev Dr Moyes was presented with lifetime achievement award at the CONNECT:14 Media Conference’s gala dinner at the QT Hotel on the Gold Coast on 15th May.
