Christian Television Australia’s Easter special, Forgiven People, will look at the issue of forgiveness through the story of three Australians who speak about their “dark past and their spiritual journey to a more positive lifestyle”.
The three include an ex-bikie chick, Susan, who explains how the supportive nature of Christian groups such as “God”s Squad” motorcycle club helped her survive to become a wife and mother of three children; a former rock drummer, Johno, who, having escaped a life of violence to play in a number of successful pub bands, started taking illegal drugs before eventually joining a Christian hard rock band and discovered faith in a forgiving God; and musician, author and public speaker Monique, a survivor of child sexual abuse whose “strong Christian faith and keen analytical mind have enabled her to deal positively with situations that would have crushed a weaker individual”.
Produced by Melbourne’s Vic Campbell and directed by respected documentary film-maker Don Parham, Forgiven People will screen on the Seven Network at 3pm on Good Friday, 29th March (except in Melbourne due to the airing of the Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal). It will also be streamed online after 4pm on CTA’s YouTube channel, www.CTA.tv.
