As an 18-year-old I applied to be a part-time youth worker at our country church! I knew I’d get the job, I was a shoe-in for it! I had been helping run youth group for nine months already, and I didn’t have a job.

What I didn’t know at the time was that my church elders were pretty nervous about an 18-year-old running youth group! But they took a chance on me anyway.
What I lacked in knowledge, I made up for in passion – and they made up for behind the scenes. It ended up being a great apprenticeship into this thing called “Ministry”.
People have been amazingly generous to me. I’m trying to be generous to others.
Thanks a whole heap David and Margaret Baxter! Good times.
