ROBBIE TOWNSEND listens to Passion’s latest release…
“Worthy Of Your Name, is packed full of anthemic, melodies that effortlessly shift from the pulsing power and intensity of How Great Is Your Love to the elevated moments of atmospheric bliss in Holy Ground and Forgiven.”
Worthy of Your Name
Passion Movement, 2017
In a Word: Elevated
There is nothing quite like being lost in the wonder of worshipping our great God and King, Jesus Christ. And Passion’s latest offering, Worthy of Your Name, is certainly a great piece of wonder creating, awore inspiring, Spirit lifting worship that will shift you to an awareness of Gods presence.
Recorded live at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta with 55,000 passionate uni students singing along, Worthy of Your Name beautifully captures what makes corporate worship so great.
Right on trend, Worthy Of Your Name, is packed full of anthemic, melodies that effortlessly shift from the pulsing power and intensity of How Great Is Your Love to the elevated moments of atmospheric bliss in Holy Ground and Forgiven.
Passion is a collection of artists that have been bought together through the Passion Conferences founded by Louie Giglio in 1997, and have released a live worship album nearly every year since.
Featuring best-selling artists Kristian Stanfill, Chris Tomlin, Matt Radman, and Hillsong United, the quality of the songwriting and recording on the 2017 edition is, as you would expect, of the highest quality.
The only downside of this album is the fade out and silence at the end of each song. It’s a bit harsh and abrasive and kind of kills the worship moment, but then again, who listens to a whole album anymore?! If you’re the type to pick out the favs and add them to the playlist, then endings won’t matter.
It’s a winner.
