DAVID ADAMS looks at Bible study resource, StudyLight.org…
Largely the work of one man – Poland-based Jeff Garrison, StudyLight.org was established in 2001 and since then has built into a sizeable free resource – it claims to be the “largest collection of online Bible study tools and resources for those interested in taking their Bible study further” on the web. While it’s a fairly text-heavy starting page (this is, after all, about study), it is easily navigable – you can simply enter a word, phrase or Bible verse to find resources on that subject or go straight to some of the more than 100 commentaries, concordances, dictionaries and encyclopaedias found on the site. There’s also historical writings, tools which help you explore the original Biblical languages and resources for both pastoral and personal devotions. Other aspects of the site include ‘audio shows’, articles and daily devotionals. You can also sign up to become a member (and even pick you own colour for the site – can you tell the creator has expertise in computing?) A great site to browse through for inspiration and a useful tool for when you’re looking for something specific.
