More than 180 killed in storm in southern Philippines, reports

More than 180 people have reportedly been killed as a fierce tropical storm swept through the southern Philippines with dozens more still missing.

The storm, dubbed Tembin but known as Vinta in The Philippines, brought with it flash flooding and mudslides to parts of Mindanao when it arrived on the island on Friday. There were reports at least one entire village had been buried in a landslide.

Tens of thousands have taken shelter in evacuation centres.

It comes just days after an earlier storm killed dozens in the central Philippines.
