The US-based producer of an award-winning Christian audio series is offering churches and small groups the chance to show a free video telling the Christmas story and explaining why Christmas has, for many, been “relegated to a sort of Santa Claus tale”.
Bill Heid, executive producer of Heirloom Audio Productions, has produced the video – The Lost Secrets of Christmas – which uses a series of hand-drawn images to tell the story and explain how the “actual history of Christ’s birth has been ignored and rewritten to give the whole Christmas season a romantic veneer”.
“Our world has pushed aside the reality of God incarnate – the Messiah come to the world in the form of a tiny baby. What remains is an abstracted separation of the Gospel from historical reality,” the narrator explains on the video.
No licence is required to show the nine minute video in churches or small groups. It can be downloaded at http://thelostsecretsofchristmas.com.
Heirloom Audio has just released its ninth ‘Audio Adventure’, Wulf the Saxon, which tells the story of the birth of England in 1065.
