Hosted by Terry Crews, of Brooklyn 99 fame, the awards are presented to films in two major categories – family audience and mature audience – with the winners selected based on their spiritual principles, production values and their “redemptive and inspiring” stories.

Miracles from Heaven was named the number one film in the family category followed by The Young Messiah, Sing, The Jungle Book and Finding Dory. Other winners in the category included The Secret Life of Pets, Trolls, Queen of Katwe, Zootopia and Pete’s Dragon.

In the mature audience category, God’s Not Dead 2 was named the best film followed by Hacksaw Ridge, Captain America: Civil War, Risen and Silence. Other winners in the category included Ben-Hur, The Finest Hours, Sully, Eddie the Eagle and Hail! Caesar.

Among other awards handed out on the night, The Young Messiah won the Epiphany Prize for the most inspiring movie of 2016 and Hacksaw Ridge won the Faith & Freedom Award for promoting positive American values in film. Adam Greaves-Neal won the Grace Award for most inspiring actor for his role in The Young Messiah and Melissa Joan Hart won the Grace Award for most inspiring actress for her role in God’s Not Dead 2.
