WAR ROOM WINS $US100,000 EPIPHANY PRIZE FOR ‘MOST INSPIRING MOVIE’ OF 2015

War Room, the story of a woman’s quest to save her marriage through the power of prayer, has won the $US100,000 Epiphany Prize for the ‘most inspiring movie’ of 2015.

Other awards handed out at the 24th Annual Movieguide Faith & Values Gala in the US on Friday night included the $US100,000 prize for ‘most inspiring TV program’ which was awarded to Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colours, a film about the famous singer’s early life.

Other nominees for most inspiring movie included The 33, Brooklyn, Captive, Do You Believe?, Manny and Woodlawn while those for most inspiring TV program included AD: The Bible Continues, Ancient Roads from Christ to Constantine, and Saints & Strangers as well as episodes of Chicago Fire and Blue Bloods.

A special lifetime achievement award was presented to Ken Wales, producer of Captive, Amazing Grace, The Party and Revenge of the Pink Panther, while the $US25,000 Kairos grand prize for the most uplifting screenplay for first time and beginning screenwriters went to Wayne Sable and Christopher Lovick for Heaven’s Messenger.

Joy won the Bradley Foundation Faith and Freedom Award for Movies.
