CHRISTMAS DAY TV SPECIAL LOOKS AT FAITH IN AN “AGE OF REASON”

12th December, 2013

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL: A scene from the CTA special, A Wise Man? PICTURE: Christian Television Australia

Christian Television Australia’s Christmas special is a modern day retelling of the Christmas story which confronts the issue of faith in an "age of reason".

A Wise Man? tells the story of how the fictitious astrophysics professor and Nobel Prize winner Abe Collins discovers a new star or comet. When he and his colleagues decide to plot its course, they make a startling discovery.

"The program draws on skepticism from within the scientific community, who would consider themselves the champions of wisdom and knowledge, in the face of supernatural events," says CTA.

The half hour show, which goes to air on Channel Seven at 6am on Christmas Day, has been produced by Australian Christian Multimedia, who also produced CTA’s Christmas and Easter shows last year. It is based on the 2013 Easter special which used modern television techniques to re-tell the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus.

A promotional teaser of the program can see be seen on the CTA Web sit at www.christiantelevision.org.au.
