The early chapters of Genesis are some of the most profound and overlooked in Western literature – let’s rediscover them.

One of the primary claims of Genesis is that life was made possible when order came from chaos. The world was chaotic, but God spoke days, times, rules, lines, limits into its very foundation.
The prevailing worldview outside Genesis was that the world was still chaos, controlled by the whims of the gods who had to be appeased by sacrifice.
Because Genesis posited a God who spoke rules into nature, people went looking for those rules and found them. They were then able to harness nature, dismiss superstition, develop science, technology and improve people’s lot.
This is even more amazing when you realise that the enduring order of the universe is built on the chaos of quantum mechanics.
