Something I’m learning at the moment: ‘The things that make me a good leader, stop me becoming a great leader’.

I’m not afraid to push the envelope, to stretch people, call a spade a spade. I’m not afraid to get up front and take the lead, to run ahead and say, ‘This way.’
People identify this as making me leadership material, and they’re right. But these same qualities mean I can rub people up the wrong way.
If you rub too many people the wrong way, suddenly you find yourself leading no-one.
Wow, what a lesson. The first person you have to lead is yourself. How can I be a better leader, lead with my strengths, and not let them become weaknesses?
I’ll let you know how I go.
