I’ve got some hard words for us today.
Ticking a box?
If we think that quoting a couple of Bible verses is the answer to the current marriage debate, our theology is deficient and even dangerous.
If we think the solution will be found in ticking a box in the postal survey – either box – then we haven’t understood what’s going on.
By all means vote – I will be, but we need to do much more than vote. The only way we are going to solve the intractable animosity there is around these issues – is love. Love.
Until we are willing to sit down and learn and listen to people on the other side of the isle, this issue won’t go away.
If we continue to see it as winning and losing, then we are all going to lose in the end.
