After Jesus rose from the dead, He is said to have revealed to the disciples how Scripture shows the Messiah must suffer and die and rise again on the third day.

But when one goes hunting for this evidence, there isn’t much to find. Isaiah 53, Psalm 22. This has thrown many a good Christian, and excited many a good sceptic!
It’s a forest and trees problem.
All through Scripture, there is hint and allusion of the time when a lamb would die to take away our sins. Of the first-born son being sacrificed, and figuratively, rising from the dead. Of a Joseph, long thought dead, who turns up alive, and saves those called family. Of a Jonah who was drowned in the sea, yet after three days in the belly of death, was spat out alive proclaiming grace.
The Messiah doesn’t fulfill a few Scriptures. He fulfills the lot. Don’t miss Eden for the trees.
