• Some sad news last Friday with the death of internet sensation Grumpy Cat. Grumpy, whose real name was Tardar Sauce, died last Tuesday at the age of seven from complications after a recent urinary tract infection. The cat hit worldwide fame some six years ago after owner Tabitha Bundesen posted a picture of her permanent scowl online. She would go on to grace magazine covers, internet advertisements and even starred in her own movie, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever. “Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile all around the world – even when times were tough,” the family said in a statement. “Her spirit will continue to live on through her fans everywhere.”
• It seems not even Brexit will cause the fall of the Tower of London with the announcement four raven chicks have been born at the tower. Legend has it that the tower will crumble and the a “great harm” befall the kingdom shoiuld the ravens ever leave but Historic Royal Palaces, which manages the tower, announced ravens Huginn and Muninn were now the “proud parents” of four healthy chicks, the first to be born at the tower since 1989. Chris Skaife, a Yeoman Warder and Ravenmaster at the tower, expressed his delight at the births: “Having worked with the ravens here at the tower for the last 13 years and getting to know each of them, I feel like a proud father!”
• The double-decker bus from the 1997 film Spice World – which starred British pop band the Spice Girls – is being opened for overnight guests. Parked in Market Square in Wembley Park in London, the bus has been listed on Airbnb and will take paying guests from June with bookings now open. The interior has a lower level featuring bright pink Union Jack cinema chairs, a massive TV screen and neon ‘Girl Power’ sign and the upper level features a bedroom. The bus sleeps up to three.
