This Easter, Sight is publishing a poster on social media which asks the question, “what if it’s true?” Sight’s ANN WOJCZUK explains where the idea for the poster came from…
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
Why this Easter piece?
There are beloved people in my world for whom Easter is just a “happy holiday” with chocolate, who ignore and deny the personal importance and reality of Jesus Christ and tell me I’m “religious”.
Yes, but what if it’s true?
There is so much more to life than just what meets the eye.
The cry of my heart for them, for all of us, is not religion. It is of missed love, missed glory, missed communion, missed truth and missed destiny.
The cry of my heart is a reaching out yearning for us to share the beauty, creativity, friendship, wonder and eternity of our Maker’s presence, His mind and love.
The question and the invitation are always in the air.
God is present and requesting our attention.
At Easter the story of Jesus Christ comes into sharper focus.
“Who do you say that I am?”
“Come follow Me.”
We are all free to choose our response…
Don’t ignore the question. Don’t squander the invitation.
What if it’s true?
