The
King James Version
First published in 1611, the King James was written to “deliver
God’s book unto God’s people in a tongue which
they can understand”.
Excerpt: Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent
by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed
to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The
virgin’s name was Mary.
And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice,

New International Version (NIV) Study Bible
The most popular English translation of the Bible in the world
today and first published in 1978, this Zondervan edition
