Mission Australia wants to know what issues most concern young people in New South Wales as part of its annual National Survey of Young Australians.
More than 16,000 people in New South Wales aged between 11 and 24 took part in last year's survey, a significant proportion of the 50,000 people who did so across the country.
Findings from the 2010 survey show young people in New South Wales ranked body image as among their highest concerns along with family conflict and coping with stress.
“Mission Australia’s annual youth survey is a ‘temperature check’ on what young people are feeling, what issues concern them, what they think are the main challenges facing the nation and how optimistic they are about the future,” says Leonie Green, Mission Australia’s NSW state director.
“Responses to the survey help governments, youth agencies and ourselves improve and develop programs and strategies that are shaped by the voices of young people themselves.”
The survey closes on 1st July. Those wanting to take part can complete the survey online at www.mayouthsurvey.com.au.
