Jesus, You are The Light

You are the Lamb of God

You the Son of God who did

Many miraculous signs and wonders

Jesus, You are just and stand up for what is right

You healed the sick

You spoke words of life

You know all and see all

Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd

You know the Father intimately

You raised the dead to life

You wept

Jesus, You are the anointed one

You rode on a donkey into Jerusalem

You are a servant

You are the Way and the Truth and the Life

Jesus, You are the Vine

Who invites us to be the branches

And bear much fruit

When we are connected to the vine

Jesus, You were betrayed

You were arrested

You were questioned

Yet remained silent

Your followers denied they knew You

You were chosen as an innocent man

To be flogged

Jesus, You are a King

Who wore a crown of thorns

You wore a purple robe

You were mocked

Jesus, You carried the cross

They stripped You of Your clothes

And nailed You bleeding

And naked to the cross

While on the cross

You forgave the sinners around You

You made sure Your friends

And relatives were there to strengthen each other

While on the cross

The wrath of God was taken from sinners

And placed on You

Jesus, You cried, “It is finished”

You bowed Your head

And gave up Your Spirit

Your side was pierced

Your body was bound in linen cloths

And You were buried

Jesus, You rose again

On the first day of the week

And appeared to Your friends

Who doubted You were risen

Or did not recognise You

Jesus, after You had risen

You spent time with Your followers

You forgave them for denying You

And built them up to become stronger for You

Jesus, You promised to send

The Holy Spirit to be with Your followers

You were taken up to Heaven

In front of their eyes

Encouraging them to go out into the world

And tell everyone

That Jesus

Is God in flesh

Who walked this Earth

To know us
